Eve and Terry’s wedding at Winchester Registry Office was one of those days that reminds you exactly why intimate, meaningful ceremonies are so special. From the very start, it was clear this would be a relaxed and joy-filled wedding, surrounded by a genuinely lovely group of family and friends.

A ceremony full of emotion

Like many couples, both Eve and Terry admitted to feeling a little nervous before the ceremony. That nervous energy quickly disappeared the moment Eve walked down the aisle. As soon as they saw each other, the nerves gave way to happiness, laughter and an unmistakable sense of love – the kind of moment that makes registry office weddings incredibly powerful to photograph.

The ceremony took place at Winchester Registry Office, a fantastic location for couples who want a well-run, welcoming environment in the heart of a historic city. The team, as always, were professional and supportive, helping everything flow smoothly so the focus stayed exactly where it should be – on the couple.

After the ceremony, we headed outside for family and friends photographs, followed by a brilliant confetti run. These moments are always a highlight – natural reactions, big smiles and spontaneous laughter, all coming together in a way that feels effortless and authentic.

Winchester offers no shortage of photographic backdrops, from historic architecture to quieter scenic pockets. On this occasion, after completing the group photographs, Eve and Terry headed off to a nearby local area featuring a lake, strong mature trees and striking old military buildings. It was the perfect setting for relaxed couple portraits, offering variety, texture and a sense of place while staying close to Winchester.

Despite both saying they weren’t natural posers, Eve and Terry couldn’t stop laughing and having fun. A little gentle direction, plenty of movement and a relaxed approach quickly brought out natural interactions, resulting in photographs that truly reflect who they are. The focus was simply on enjoying the moment – and the images followed naturally from there.

One of the highlights of the day was capturing one of my favourite images of the year: nothing complicated, just a bride by the window, quietly getting ready for an unforgettable day. Simple, timeless and full of feeling.
