Walkiria & Nilton – Wedding Ceremony at St Joseph’s Church, Newbury
Walkiria and Nilton’s wedding ceremony took place at the beautiful St Joseph’s Church in Newbury, and what a stunning setting it is. It’s an absolutely grand church that brings an incredible atmosphere to a wedding ceremony – one that feels special the moment you walk in.
From a photographer’s point of view, the lighting inside St Joseph’s Church is very good, which really helps on days like this when it was quite dull outside. Being able to create the images I did, despite the grey weather, is always a win. The church does have some restrictions on where photographers can stand and move, so having a good zoom lens is definitely essential – preparation makes all the difference.
After the wedding ceremony, we headed to Woolhampton Village Hall for a family get-together. This gave us the perfect opportunity for relaxed group shots and some lovely couple portraits. Walkiria’s family is Brazilian, and the food… wow. There was an incredible selection, and I’ve never felt so welcomed at a wedding. Everyone kept trying to feed me – clearly good food is a very important part of this family! If I’d stayed much longer, I think I’d have needed to start a diet the following day.
It was such a joyful, warm wedding to be part of, and a real pleasure to photograph.
If you’re looking for a Thatcham or Newbury wedding photographer who captures relaxed, natural moments while telling the full story of your day, I’d love to hear from you.
